The novella-in-flash is having a day. This delightful form is part chapbook, part flash fiction collection, and all heart. An NIF is, most simply, a series of individual flash fiction pieces that work together to create a cohesive narrative. In this four-week workshop, we’ll explore how to structure a novella-in-flash, balancing stand alone stories with an overarching story. We’ll talk about how to use recurring characters, themes, images, and motifs to create cohesion. And we’ll look at narrative order, beginnings and endings, and the important things in between.
