Founded by Andrew Buckley and Finnian Burnett, Wild Writers Studio is a creative space for writers who want more than polite workshops and safe storytelling. We’re here for the rule-benders, the genre-mashers, the emotionally brave, and the writers who feel the pull to create something unforgettable.
We believe great writing comes from experimentation, community, craft, and just a smidge of rebellion. Our workshops and multi-week courses are designed to help emerging and established writers sharpen their skills, deepen their voice, and generate powerful new work across their chosen genre and medium. Flash fiction, novellas, novel, screenplays, horror, fantasy, literary, romantasy, and more. Nothing is off limits.

Our Team
Finnian Burnett Dr. Finnian Burnett is a writer whose work explores the intersections of the human body, mental health, the gorgeousness of human complexity, and gender identity. They are a recipient of a Canada Council for the Arts grant and a finalist in the 2023 CBC nonfiction prize. Finnian is a staunch supporter of emerging writers and encourages all writers to experiment with their writing, to get weird with it, to learn how to use words in a way that showcases their own unique and glorious voice.
Finnian’s work appears in Writer’s Digest, Geist, Pulp Literature, CBC books, See You Next Tuesday, and more. Finnian’s novellas-in-flash, THE PRICE OF COOKIES and REDSHIRTS SOMETIMES SURVIVE are available from Off Topic Publishing. Andrew Buckley Andrew Buckley is a storyteller, educator, and keynote speaker with over 20 years of experience in creative writing and publishing. Known for humour that refuses to behave, he crafts speculative fiction, comic books, screenplays, podcasts, and immersive narrative experiences. He is the author of HAIR IN ALL THE WRONG PLACES, a sharp and darkly funny supernatural novel that blends teenage awkwardness with full-moon complications. As the creator of Deadly Dinner Parties, he brings murder, intrigue, and laughter to gatherings around the world.
An in-demand speaker at international schools, colleges, writing conferences, and comic cons, Andrew delivers high-energy presentations that leave audiences inspired and energized. He is currently juggling too many projects at once, quietly attempting to bend space and time to fit in one more. He is represented by Nikki Terpilowksi at Holloway Literary. |
